I present a journal entry summarising everything I've done since my last entry and what is going to happen
In bullet points/ paragraphs / listy object things
-- First year of university is finished! currently awaiting my results of this last term whihc should be interesting , got some really good grades in my first term , 2nd term something went a bit sour in my work and got some rather poor grades and this term should be interesting , I know my practical work ( made a big fooking dragon puppet.. will upload pics I promise) was strong ,but my supporting work was not so good , not holding out much hope for my grades be amazing or anything. but yes with uni over for the year I have three months of.. well a little bit of preparatory work for next year(Island of Dr Moreau project , FIBREGLASS WOO) but other than that , nothing.
-- 1st term of uni was , life sculpting ,mask making, caricature head sculpt ,plaster mould making, latex & foam casting , essay work was based around the production Warhorse at the national theatre (IT WAS AMAZING , back in september this year I thoroughly recommend it , just for the puppets) and design work was for 'The Love of three oranges , did a psych ward thing for it , was cool .
--2nd term was Body casting ,face casting , hand casting , body padding (involving pattern making, stretch fabrics and making a leotard, EVIL) , there was no essay but prep for next terms essay which was stupid bloody cultural studies thing , ended up writing about 80's hair metal .. dunno what I was thinking, design work was for 'The Tigers Bride' by angela carter , happy with my designs , will upload 'em , all photoshop stuff.
3rd term , was the black and white project , working around 'The underground kingdom' russina fairytale , could only use solid black and white in our designs , will upload pics, am quite proud of it. had to also do design work in b/w (with accents of gold, silver or copper) for the same production seperate from our main designs for our practical work , mine was poo , nuff said. still waiting feedback. Did also have a REALLY interesting Animatronics workshop , the guy who came in brought in a little baby dinosaur from dinotopia ( it had its silicon skin ripped off by the studio and had been left ina skip so no-one else couild use it once they were done with it.) which he powered up and showed us how it all worked.. defnitly gonna try giving it a go if i get a bit of spare cash , made some basic movinhg items like tail, finger , neck and eye mechs .. Really basic ones.
-- Currently on 3 month Boredom binge due to uni being done. Will do several things hopefully , get back in shape , clean everything in sight , do some paid work , brush up on my illustration , get to reading all those sodding issues of imaginefx, read alot (want to get through all the gaunts ghosts books ,just starting on necropolis),experiment with some new materials, get an army to near completion for 40k , learn to cook somethign that isnt dolmio or simply shoved into my george foreman grill aaaand BE SOCIAL , I have barely seen anyone in fucking ages , Uni' has consumed my life , and now its been regurgitated its not quite what it was.
--I was cultivating a rather hopeful looking moustache/beard combo , they have now vacated my chin via slicy razor liberation , I now look like im 15 again.....ugh.
-- Pendulums album In silico has been in my cd player , and is good. Tracks 2 , 3 and 9 = awesome, the rest are ok , not too noticeable though.
